A casual, family-style restaurant located in the popular Bright Angel Lodge, the Harvey House Cafe, (formerly the Bright Angel Restaurant) is a convenient stop for anyone staying in or passing through Grand Canyon Village. It\u2019s perched right on the edge of the Rim Trail, so you\u2019re a mere couple of steps away from the very Grand Canyon itself \u2013 quite a sight! Whether you\u2019re looking for a hearty warm breakfast, or a relaxing dinner with the family, you\u2019ll find something to enjoy at this restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harvey House Cafe Ambiance <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This charming restaurant is decorated with the inspiration of local architect Mary Colter in mind. You\u2019ll find unexpected and pleasing details like vibrantly colored transom panels on the windows, exposed wood beams, and brightly colored mosaic tile work throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seating is available both in booths and at tables, so it\u2019s easy to find a comfortable spot depending upon your preferences. There are some historical documents and artwork on the walls for d\u00e9cor, too, so there\u2019s a bit of visual interest wherever you look. Keep in mind that the windows are at a bit of a lower level, so you won\u2019t get direct canyon views, but can easily see the Rim Trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harvey House Cafe Food <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Harvey House Cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an emphasis on diner-style cuisine. Expect a wide variety of dining options, all prepared efficiently and easy to order. Specialties include their famous biscuits & gravy, and their \u201cbuild your own fajitas\u201d option, which the kids love. The dining room opens at 6:00 am for breakfast and closes at 10:00 pm for the last dinner customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While they are especially popular for breakfast, they do serve plenty of happy customers during the day and evening, too. The chile con carnes is a consistent lunchtime favorite, as are the fully customizable burgers. There is also a rotating soup of the day, which many will appreciate in the colder off-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dress code here is casual, so no need to worry about anything other than what you might have worn otherwise. No reservations are available, so keep that in mind when planning during the busy season. There is also an adjacent bar, for those looking to unwind with a drink or two after a busy day of canyon sightseeing. The bar is open from 10:00 am \u2013 11:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in the heart of Grand Canyon Village<\/a>, Bright Angel Restaurant is convenient to a number of other attractions and lodging options. While you could opt to stay at Bright Angel Lodge<\/a> itself, there are many other choices including Maswik Lodge<\/a>, Thunderbird<\/a> and Kachina Lodges<\/a>, Yavapai Lodge<\/a>, and El Tovar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking for something else to do in the neighborhood, you could stroll the Rim Trail, head out to Hopi House to snap some photos, pick up souvenirs at the Kolb Studio & Park Store, or even scope out the Grand Canyon Railway Depot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
