Detours of Nevada operates out of Las Vegas, and caters to those visitors to the Las Vegas area that want to experience some of the American Southwest’s glorious outdoor attractions. Transportation for all their tours is provided by a fleet of well-maintained, state-of-the-art mini coach vans that seat between 9 and 13 people—though they do offer private tours that can accommodate up to nearly 55 people on a charter bus. They run half-day, day-long, and multi-day tours from Las Vegas to many different favorite regional locations like Grand Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Antelope Canyon, Hoover Dam, Death Valley National Park, and more.

Grand Canyon National Park Tour

This full-day tour typically picks you up at your Las Vegas hotel between 6:00am and 7:00am, and returns you there between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. In between, it will take you through the Mojave Desert, stop in charming Williams, Arizona, and still leave you plenty of time to explore the iconic South Rim of the Grand Canyon—where stops usually include such favorite spots as Mather Point, Yavapai Point, and Grand Canyon Village. Eldorado Canyon Mine Tour

This half-day tour usually picks you up at your Las Vegas hotel between 6:30am and 7:30am and returns you there between 11:00am and 12:00pm. Along the way you’ll have the chance for a quick photo opportunity at Hoover Dam, before exploring scenic Eldorado Canyon and historic Techatticup Mine. Tickets typically cost about $100, and include unlimited bottled water, a snack, and the cost of admission to Techatticuup Mine.

Hoover Dam Half-Day Tour

This half-day excursion to Hoover Dam runs about $100 per person, with tickets including a snack and unlimited bottled water. Pickup is available at various Las Vegas-area hotels between 8:00am and 9:00am; Detours of Nevada will have you back there between 1:00pm and 2:00pm. This guided tour is a great way to see one of the major engineering marvels of the modern world.

Bryce Canyon National Park Tour

This tour gives you the opportunity to explore such beautiful places as the Virgin River Gorge, Grand Staircase National Monument, Bryce Canyon, and more, all in the same day. Tickets typically cost about $250 person. Las Vegas-area hotel pickup is available between 6:00am and 7:00am. The tour usually has you back anywhere from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Grand Canyon West Rim Tour

For around $260 per person, this day-long tour gets you to the spectacular West Rim of the Grand Canyon, and provides you admission to Grand Canyon West, where you can add-on such adventurous attractions like the Grand Canyon Skywalk and/or a helicopter tour out over the Grand Canyon itself. Pickup from Las Vegas Strip-based hotels occurs from 6:00am to 7:00am; return usually runs anywhere between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.

Things to Know & Insider Tips

  • The price of your tour ticket with Detours of Nevada will not include any sort of gratuity. It is considered polite to tip your driver/guide around 20%.
  • All Detours of Nevada vehicles are able to accommodate wheelchairs and/or walkers that can be folded up. If you require the usage of any other sort of medical equipment during your tour, be certain to contact Detours of Nevada in advance of your tour.
  • Detours of Nevada is proud to employ guides that speak Spanish, German, and Japanese. They can also provide translators that are fluent in French, Chinese, Italian, and Swedish. If you would like to request one of these bilingual guides for your tour, make sure to contact them in advance of your visit.
  • An important note for families traveling with very small children: Detours of Nevada does not permit children under the age of 3 to go on any of their public tours. They do, however, allow children of all ages to participate in privately arranged tours. If you are interested in booking that sort of outing, you’ll need to make such arrangements directly with the company office.
  • Please keep in mind that if you’re forced to alter your travel plans for any reason, you’ll need to cancel your tour ticket reservations with Detours of Nevada at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled departure time, otherwise you’ll be charged the full amount.
