Bright Angel Bicycle, Café & Mather Point Coffee Shop – Grand Canyon Village Restaurant

This small shop near Mather Point is a convenient spot to pause for a fast bite to eat or a tasty pick-me-up. Offering a variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, and burritos, in addition to an assortment of coffees, teas, and smoothies, the Bright Angel Café is a good option for those adventurers on the go! They also sell many hiking/biking/park essentials on site.

Bright Angel Bike Café Ambiance

The Bright Angel Bicycles & Café is located directly beside the Mather Point Visitor Center. There is not really much here in the way of inside seating, but there are spots to eat right outside the shop that come with beautiful views. We found it best to order to go and walk over to Mather Point for an impromptu picnic. The Café shares its space with the bike shop, so as you ponder your next meal you’ll have plenty of exciting outdoor gear to examine. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s not just anywhere or everywhere you can order up a delicious latte while getting a tip or two about which are the best trails for you!

Bright Angel Bike Café Food

You can get everything here to go, with many options pre-made and pre-packaged for your convenience. All items are made fresh locally each day, though. The menu includes a nice variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, bagels, smoothies, and that classic favorite, the breakfast burrito. There is a full-service espresso bar here, too, where you can choose between several different types of coffees and teas. Other drinks available include many kinds of sodas, energy drinks, and juices.

Prices here are pretty typical for a grab-and-go situation in Grand Canyon National Park. Certain items at the Café can be had gluten-free, so inquire about such options if need be. Likewise, they serve several vegetarian and vegan meals upon request.

You can rent a bike or sign-up for a guided tour at the attached bike shop. They also sell a mixture of gear and supplies, as well as a few small park-themed trinkets and souvenirs. Many of the staff here also lead tours on bike rides, so even if you are just stopping for food, you can probably acquire some helpful hints and tips to aid you in your adventuring.

Hours vary seasonally, and some public holidays affect the shop’s schedule. Typically, though, hours run: May 1st-September 15th: 6:00am-7:00pm; September 16th-October 31st: 7:00am-6:00pm; November 1st-February 28th: 7:00am-5:00pm; and March 1st-April 30th: 7:00am-6:00pm.

Bright Angel Bike Café Neighborhood

Located right near Mather Point, Bright Angel Bicycles & Café is not too far from several other popular attractions and accommodations. Just down the road you will find such facilities as the Bright Angel Lodge, El Tovar, Thunderbird and Kachina Lodges, Yavapai Lodge, and Maswik Lodge.

When you have finished your biking and/or hiking for the day, you’ll still find yourself close to such local favorites as the Hopi House, Lookout Studio, Kolb Studio & Park Store, Yavapai Geological Museum and Bookstore, and of course, the beloved Grand Canyon Railway station.
